Discovering True Love

I listened
I sought after
I read
I heard
They all said "Love conquers all"
But I looked around and it was the opposite
The story looked different
I turned and all I saw were Notes of value

Notes of different colours
Solving all and conquering many
Papers and Metals
Giving Men Power
Directing Men
Bringing Joy to many and Giving Hope to Many
Making dreams come true
Plans working out

Where Then is Love?
Where is the Love that conquers all?
Where is the True Love?
Where is the red heart that causes men to do the unthinkable
Where is it?

I began questioning me

How can a feeling solve problems?
How can a feeling conquer all?
How can a feeling make the wrong, right?
How can a feeling bring hope?
How can a feeling restore a nation?
How can a feeling change the heart of a man?
How can a man have this feeling yet he kills, destroys and breaks a heart?
How can a man possess that which they say conquers all yet, hurts each day?
How can a man be consumed by this feeling but finds it difficult to give it back?

Have we been deceived?
Don't we give out what we have?
Anaa I am overthinking?
Or true love is a scam?

If it isn't
Why then can we not give out and use this desire to solve all problems
Yet Papers, Metals, Notes, and Coins seem to be solving it all

It may sound funny when one says
The note doesn't solve all
Your skills are needed
Your knowledge is important
Yet, we were all here when others sailed through without skills or knowledge on a matter
Connections opened the opportunities
A connection coupled with Notes and People of influence

I have seen the Paper
Bring Joy
Pay the Bills
Give Babies
Correct Deformities
Give good account figures
Give perfect certificates
Give good health
Open doors
Create Opportunities

But wait!

Turn to left
I see a bright city filled with the notes
The land of every man's dream
Things can be done easily

I entered the heart of the city
As I entered the light dimmed
Instead of Joy, I saw sadness
Hopelessness
Pain
Depression
Stress

Men had no peace yet they had the notes in billions
Men looked happy yet their hearts grieved
Men looked helpful yet were filled with greed
Men showed the feeling; love
But it was clouded with expectations for the future
Men had opportunities but wouldn't make them available to others
The heart of man was dark
Powdered charcoal was brighter
The wrong was normal
Pain was an everyday pill
Men hated each other but smiled at each other

I couldn't comprehend or should I say I couldn't think far

Love wasn't conquering all
Notes and Coins weren't either
They were rather destroying many

So what is that which conquers all
I climbed my mountain of thoughts
I opened the many letters around me
I search for researched documents
I listen to the melodies of life
Yet, I didn't find an answer
All answers identified had failed

Searching for answers, I thought of seeking wisdom from the old
At least, I can get enough wisdom more so history to know where to begin my search

I found a man then I asked
He didn't speak; rather He gave me a book
It was the Bible
I have read this I said
He held my hand and said read and read again
This time with the help of your Helper
I got confused
He smiled and left

Confused, I looked up into the sky and said
"God, My helper, I want to understand the right way and know the truth to my questions"
After I opened
I opened the book
It was there I realised it wasn't a book
Neither was it a letter
It was life
I could feel the light emanating from it
How was I reading it before?

I started flipping and reading
The understanding was heavenly
There I chanced on the word again; Love
I kept flipping and I kept seeing it again and again
But this time around, it didn't look like what I chanced on earlier
The feeling filled with pain, hurt, confusion, hopelessness and void of peace

It was the Love we will say conquers all
It was there I realised Love was not a feeling
Love is a person
Love is a personality
One that gives hope
One that makes you aware of the challenges ahead yet tells you nothing will separate you from Him
One that gives freely without expectations
One that releases the opportunities without hoarding
One whose heart is pure

There it was
I realised men had all they could dream of
Men were chasing after what they wanted, but one thing they lacked was Peace
I found this in Love
The One man who embodies it all
One in whom all treasures are
He is Love and Love is Him
The Man Jesus
The One who is Love and gives Love
It was there I knew Love wasn't that butterfly feeling
Neither was it the 'mashe-mashe' feeling

Love is a person
True Love isn't just a feeling but rather a Person
He is Jesus
If He is a part of you then you have Love

A Love Filled with Peace
A Love that pushes
A Love that cheers another on
A love that appreciates others
A love that grows to see the world become a better place
A love that moves away from bitterness
A love that forgives
A love that cleanses a dark heart
A love that heals the depressed soul
A love that doesn't pick up offences
A Love that loves
A love where you discover who you are
The Love of Christ, True Love
Having this Love, You can Love another

If you find yourself in a dark place
A place of pain
A place of hurt
A state of depression
A place of hopelessness
A place of destruction
Then this is your answer
Identify, seek after and engage the Love you have been yearning for
And help yourself become better
Help make the world a better place.
