A NEW SEASON: MANIFESTING RESOLUTIONS(1)

Did you find yourself writing what perhaps you ought to achieve in the year 2021? Or did you type it saving it in the clouds? If possible you thought of it as the clock ticked to 12 midnight to welcome the New Year and the subsequent months? Maybe you asked yourself what I have done these past two months.

Writing down resolutions and thinking of them assuring yourself are always easy but they become difficult to attain or manifest as the days go by and time flies either they are procrastinated or dashed into our thoughts of 'will surely happen'.

One thing we should note is; writing down or thinking about these resolutions tells us deep down in our heart we all want to be better person than we are at the moment; achieve more than we have, be more generous, more sincere, more spiritual, learn better, more decent not forgetting what we all consider succeeding and not going through what others might have. Like toy soldiers who want to be real, we know we are destined to be more than we are now.

We always know we are great but we have these big dreams and we lose track of them not achieving them as planned. How can we achieve these handwriting in our scrolls?

Constantly remind yourself of the vision that guides you. You know of this vision that's why you always think of a new way to achieve what you ought. Constantly remind yourself of this vision. But what vision exactly. Many a times we remind ourselves but we seem not to make we envision ourselves so rich void of pain, struggle and all of that but we still fail.

The right vision is the vision of your saviour, the vision of Christ of which your life is patterned. Keeping our vision in the vision of our savior gives us strength in that it might be difficult and shaky but you see a hand lifting you up and you are constantly reminded and strengthened to keep moving. Don’t let that vision of your savior be just on the cross but on his resurrection. Envisioning him only on the cross; his death for you is just like mixing the cake and not eating it or purchasing a ticket and forgetting the time for your flight. See Him as the one who has resurrected in glory making all things beautiful.

This can only be done by daily communing with Christ through prayers, reading the word, fellowship with the brethren and worshiping.

After establishing our vision through that of our saviour then we are ready and can add to it as God intends us to be.

Think through with me for a moment: Think of yourself, your habits, your lifestyle, your values and goals, your personality as you are. Now vision yourself as having the goals, values, personality that God wants you to have. That’s the fulfilled, charming and winsome person God wants you to be. That’s the person who can make a difference in this world for Christ. Now go further with that vision of you as you ought to be, should be, could be and will be if you keep the vision of Christ before you thinking about the difference it would make at work, in your home, in is church.

Keeping the vision of Christ before you informs your resolutions in that you are constantly reminded and burdened to be that person God wants you to become. See your vision through the vision of Christ.
